Workshop: Pathways to Climate Resilient Agri-Food Systems in Belgium

The workshop 'Pathways to climate resilient agri-food systems in Belgium' took place at the Belgian Climate Centre on 9 December 2025. It gathered researchers and experts to discuss the challenges facing the agri-food sector, based on the scientific state of the art.

The workshop programme was established with the support of a scientific committee composed of Sara Vicca (UAntwerpen), Jonas Vandicke (ILVO-Expertisecentrum Landbouw & Klimaat), Philippe Baret (UCLouvain) and Jérôme Bindelle (Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech/ULg).

The scientific presentations and panel discussions highlighted the complexity of the transformations to be carried out in the sector to meet multiple objectives (climate protection, resilience, food security, environmental protection, health, socio-economic challenges…). Opportunities were also highlighted, in particular the numerous convergences that exist between the solutions to be implemented to achieve these different objectives.
