Presenter: Bart Vermang (UHasselt and imec, both partners of EnergyVille)


Biography: Bart Vermang is Full Professor at Hasselt University and Programme Manager of the PV Technology & Energy Systems group at imo-imomec, a joint research institute of UHasselt and imec. He earned his MSc in Physics from Ghent University and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven, later conducting postdoctoral research at Uppsala University (Sweden) and imec (Belgium). Renowned for his expertise in photovoltaics, thin-film solar cells, and renewable energy systems, Bart has coordinated major European projects such as SWInG and PERCISTAND, and was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2016. He leads research on next-generation PV materials and solar-to-molecule technologies and actively serves on boards including EnergyVille and the International Energy Agency’s PV…
