Belgian Science for Climate Action Conference 2024

‘Climate Extremes, Causes and Consequences’

We are looking for a dozen volunteers to assist the Belgian Climate Centre team during its first conference, scheduled for February 19th and 20th, 2024. The objective of the conference is to explore and collect perspectives and breakthroughs on the causes and consequences of extreme climate events, examined through various functional, institutional, or socio-political scales. Through a combination of talks and panels, this conference provides an opportunity to share knowledge, ranging from theoretical to practical, including real-world implications for society. The conference will span two full days.

If you are willing to help us out during the conference, you will mainly be busy with the following tasks:

·         help the team with the conference logistics beforehand and afterwards (setting up the scene),

·         greet attendees and direct them within the conference venue,

·         take notes in the different sessions and panels,

·         help with the catering service.

The volunteering may include a half-day briefing session before the event (date to be decided).

Fees and benefits

We provide you with food and drinks on the conference days and a fixed allowance of €36/day to cover your costs.

Are you a team-player and enthusiastic about climate science, policy and action? Motivated to contribute to a scientific atmosphere for an event that will integrate various types of knowledge?
